Welcome to the third installment of the Haga Princesses. Today we come to Désirée, the third child of of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten and his wife Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, . If you haven’t seen them already, you can click back to see the posts regarding her elder sisters Margaretha and Birgitta for a refresher. Like her sisters Margaretha and Birgitta before her, Désirée Elisabeth Sibylla was never in line for the throne as the Swedish tradition at the time was male primogeniture.
This Haga Princess married Baron Nils-August Otto Carl Niclas Silfverschiöld in 1964 while wearing her sister Birgitta’s wedding dress along with the Cameo tiara. Their marriage has produced three children and they remained together until the Baron’s death in 2017.
A Princess still wears a tiara now and then, and in the case to the weddings of her nieces and nephew in 2010, 2013, and 2015 respectively.
