Brit Brief – ANZAC Day

Today we will have a brief Brit Brief. We have multiple ANZAC Day appearances to cover, mostly by the popular younger British royals and an appearance of a royal we don’t see often.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attended the ANZAC Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey together. The Duke of Gloucester also attended the ceremony, and it’s nice to see him. He is often overlooked in the larger British family group photos.

Prince William is on a short tour of New Zealand to commemorate the victims of the recent Christchurch attacks. He also attended an ANZAC day service with the New Zealand Prime Minister and laid a wreath at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

The ANZAC Day services are a significant part of the royal family calendar, and a reminder of what royals actually do and stand for.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
