Happy Anniversary CP Haakon and CP Mette-Marit!

Yesterday (August 25th) was M-M and Haakon’s 18th wedding anniversary so I’m going to wrap up our “Mini-Mette-Marit” celebration with some photos from the various pre-wedding events, like photocalls, dinner parties, sailing events… you know, all of the usual Scandinavian royals pre-wedding fun! And if you’re hankering for some actual wedding day coverage, OC’s got you covered here, with her very first Masterpiece Theater entry – Mette Marit’s Wedding Gown.

There were two photocalls before their wedding, the first at The Royal Palace in Oslo…

And the second at Skaugum, before a private party for friends as part of the pre-wedding celebrations on August 23rd.

In a move highly reminiscent of Their Majesties 80th Birthday celebrations from just a couple of years ago, the royal couple hosted a pre-wedding day “at sea” for their guests on August 24th, followed by a formal dinner at Akershus Castle.

A few of the guests. Looks like it might have started off cold, then warmed up a bit. Although I suppose that could also indicate how much bubbly was flowing as well. LOL

Those Norways sure know how to party. And they slip so easily between oo-la la tiaras and big puffy ski jackets! No wonder they are the RF I’d most like to be adopted by! So what say you? Did everyone get it right for the times? Or do some leave you scratching your heads? Let us know in the comments. And feel free to share any photos you might have of the events as well!
