Hofdame Bits and Bobs

The solstice is upon us. I for one will be glad to see the days getting longer in my neighborhood. Also, it’s Christmas week for those who celebrate. We’ll be here until Thursday, and the Christmas greetings post will be updated as things happen. Check out the Dane’s new puppies!

If you missed the Duchess of Cornwall’s yearly Christmas party for children with serious illnesses, it’s worth a revisit here. Also, there are lots of holiday events, lights, and seasonal photos at the link.

Handbag Instagram

As you know, Hofdame LiL runs our Instagram feed, and she is a true blue Mette-Marit fan. So no surprise this appeared last week! MM looks good, glad to say.

Britain

This isn’t specifically a Christmas photo, so we’ve broomed this into Bits. Nice to see Autumn and the Windsor cousins, isn’t it?

Japan

I would love to take this class! There is a rumor of a book on this being released in English, so I’ll keep my eye out.

The Classic Princess Hisako has been very busy. She paid a visit to the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Department Store wearing an intriguing brooch and necklace combination.

The Princess attended the Emperor’s Cup JFA 101st All Japan Football Championship Final match between Urawa Reds and Oita Trinita at the National Stadium in Shinjuku, Tokyo. I am constantly amazed by her wide range of interests. Love the cuff detail here.

The Princess also attended a charity fair and showed us her kimono-wearing skills.

Denmark

It’s a Classic Princess Christmas around here! Just look at this beautiful woman! Technically speaking, this is a Christmas event and as such should probably be with our other Christmas entries in the Christmas post. I put it here because this outfit is just a master class in fitting in and standing out at the same time. She knows what she should do and when she should do it.

Monaco

Honestly, Princess Caroline has been giving a master class in elegant dressing lately. Here she is at an art exhibition in a classic camel and black combination, wearing her Blazé Milano Cholita Everyday Wool-blend blazer.

The extended Monaco family marched out to the Christmas market, children in tow. Maybe those trousers of Caroline’s don’t fall on the elegant end of her closet, but they certainly are festive.

Bhutan

Bhutan’s National Day is just as you expected: full of bright colors, beautiful people, and cute kiddos.

Tiaras in the Wild

No one seems to know where this tiara came from, but it appeared upside-down on the head of Anna-Philippa Wolf. She wore it for her wedding to Archibald Pearson and it’s certainly an interesting way to accessorize.
