Hofdame Bits and Bobs

We have an exciting week ahead! The Duchess of Cambridge is visiting Denmark and meeting with Crown Princess Mary on Wednesday. They will be visiting a crisis center for women and discussing the Mary Foundations’ involvement with the children who are cared for at the center. Here is the agenda. We will have an open post on Wednesday.

Fifty for the Fiftieth

Mary’s maternity wear is far more varied than any of us thought. Here are the top ten picks. (We’ve now done 30 of the 50, including daywear, coats, and maternity. Evening wear is this week’s poll, so get your choices ready).

The Netherlands

Queen Maxima has been going about her business in a very windy Netherlands winter. I present to you one good outfit and a series of shiny skirts (well, two shiny skirts but “series” fits in better with our love for alliteration).

I really like this: the Queen wore an Oscar de la Renta dress and coat Giavanito Rossi boots. This is just wacky enough to be very Max (note the hem) but it’s still a flattering choice. The Queen visited LG Sonic in Zoetermeer and managed to make peering at chemical-free algae control look like the most fascinating thing she had done all week.

She also gave a speech at the ABN AMRO head office on inclusivity in banking. All Natan here, so make of it what you will!

Earlier in the month, she paid a working visit to the Zuiderpark Sports Campus. She tossed her Valentino coat over her Roberto Collina skirt and sweater for an all Bordeaux fashion statement.

Japan

This gallery is fascinating. It includes some previously unseen photos of various Imperial family members during their school days.
