Hofdame Bits and Bobs

Well, whew, what a party we had this weekend, right? The Jubilee was a smashing success and this blog was completely immersed in the fun. We are still washing the lipstick off the champagne glasses and straightening the lampshades around here. However, the rest of the royals did not pause for a minute so we’ll get ourselves together and march on!

If you want to relive some of the Jubilee fun, or just catch up on moments you missed, Getty has you covered.

Denmark/Germany

While our attention was focused elsewhere, Princess Benedikte’s son, Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (SWB), married Carina Axelsson, an author and his very long-term partner. Prior to the long-awaited nuptials, they displayed their renovated small starter house (Berleberg Castle to you and me) and her engagement ring.

The bride wore a lovely white sleeveless gown with a lace overlay and her trademark Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Diamond Spike Tiara. Not much is known about the provenance of the tiara, but you can refresh yourself on the history of both the diadem and the couple’s long relationship here.

Princess Benedikte was a total classic, as always, in her pink gown and Queen Sophia’s Star Pearl tiara.

The Danes came out in full support. Crown Princess Mary wore her Diamond Wedding Tiara and repeated her Erdem floral gown, Princess Marie sparkled in pink and wore the Danish Floral Tiara, and we got a rare peek at Princess Kelly wearing the SC&G Turquoise Tiara. It was said Crown Princess Victoria was also there, but alas tiara-less. Scratch that, Victoria was at a different wedding in Sweden! Thanks to Baguette Dalloway for the update!

Monaco

A good contingent of Monaco royals and royal-adjacents were spotted in Rome, where they were attending a friend’s wedding at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina. It must be something to see this wall of Chanel coming at you down the street. Well, Tatiana is in Alessandra Rich polka dots. She is also my favorite here.

Princess Alexandra was there too, but she contained the Chanel enthusiasm to her feet.

Norway

Look who was spotted at the French Open! Buddies King Felipe, Crown Prince Haakon (in sunnies), and Crown Princess Mette Marit (in Beulah London).

If you think you’ve seen this dress before (recently!), it’s because you have. A lot.

Tiaras in the Wild

Can’t make it to London to see the Sotheby’s exhibit? Well, feast your eyes on these photos of the Roseberry Tiara. I know, it’s a poor substitute for a trip and seeing it in person. Let’s close our eyes and pretend we are there.
