Hofdame Bits and Bobs

Lilibet’s Handbag has ticked over to its fourth fifth year! Happy fourth birthday to us, and thank you to all Baguettes and Hofdudes for the support and fun over the past few years. We usually do a birthday post but there is just too much going on – so let’s get down to what we do best. Royal talk!

The Netherlands

The King, Queen, and Princess of Orange are on tour, and we have a post dedicated to it. Check it out. Also, Josine’s blog ModekoninginMaxima, is constantly updating.

Britain

Should we have a special header for the “Zara and Mike” show? Zara, looking good at the Cheltenham Festival trials – with a hug H/T to the talented Polka Popp.

Norway

Queen Sonja attended “The Castle’s Craft – Created Over 200 Years” Official Opening. We know that the Queen enjoys some good neck bling, so this piece is not at all out of character – or out of place, given the venue. It also coordinates well with those boots. I do wish we had some photos without the shawl, though.

Sweden

There was a Memorial Ceremony for Holocaust Victims in Stockholm on January 27. As always with such somber events, it was not a fashion occasion. However, the Crown Princess looked extremely appropriate. She paired her Tiger of Sweden blazer with an H & M skirt.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended a seminar organized by the Folke Bernadotte Academy at Rosersberg Palace outside Stockholm. Pictures from the arrival are below. She pulled together some much worn pieces from her closet, including her By Malene Birger jacket, Filippa K top, and her Baum und Pferdgarten skirt. (H/T to UFONoMore)

Lesotho

We are reaching into the way back machine here, but it takes a while for us to unearth news from Lesotho. In October, King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Bereng Seeiso were at the inauguration of new Lesotho Prime Minister Sam Ntsokoane Matekane at Setsoto stadium back in October. The Queen is upholding the hat tradition in a fine manner, and I applaud that. That is a lovely and unusual color combination on her ensemble.

Liechtenstein

Let’s leave with some pretty things and happy news. We love wedding dresses around here and Princess Angela’s is a favorite.
