Hofdame Bits and Bobs

This crazy busy spring continues, with royals bustin’ out all over. Let’s see what’s up.

Sweden

The younger generation came out to see a production at the Kungliga Opera. I don’t know if I can handle this “Estelle as a tween” phase. This maturity came on fast. Estelle wore a Patachou skirt with a Lisa Yang sweater and also raided her mom’s closet for a handbag. The Crown Princess paired her Sandro blazer with an H & M skirt.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia brought their boys along (wearing matching Reiss shirts). The Princess wore an Andiata skirt.

Carl Philip and Sofia also went to the Elle Fashion Awards earlier in the week. The purple dress is from Lisa Lang (a popular week for this designer!)

Britain

I thought Zara looked spectacular here. Mia didn’t do badly for herself, either.

Princess Beatrice continued her stylish run, too.

Monaco

Some of you were fond of Princess Charlene’s Salvatore Ferragamo Cat Eye sunnies, so here is your chance to see them again. The family was all at the Sainte Devote Rugby tournament. Everyone was represented well in blue and white.

Charlene has really come back with a vengeance. That red lip and her general good cheer here are a welcome sight.

Luxembourg

It was a joyful weekend in Luxembourg! The civil marriage of Princess Alexandra and Nicolas Bagory was held this Saturday at Luxembourg City Hall. The religious wedding will be held next weekend in the Saint Trophyme church in Bormes-les-Mimosas. There will be an Open Post here at the Bag for those wishing to chat.

The wedding was followed by a reception at the Grand Ducal Palace, where the bride and groom appeared on the balcony to greet their well-wishers. The bride wore a Valentino cape with her white trouser ensemble.

The Grand Duke and Duchess were beaming throughout. Maria Teresa wore a trouser outfit by Natan, embellished with what the design house describes as “embroidered feathers.”

The Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess appeared happy to be at an all-adult event here, probably happy for a tiny respite from life with two people under three feet tall. Stephanie is wearing a dress from Emporio Armani in this season’s go-to color, blue. Her handbag is by Turquoise Tassel, run by Turkish women artisans. You can read more about their initiative at UFO No More.

We haven’t seen Princess Claire recently, so it’s good to have a sighting of her. She is wearing a Diane von Furstenberg dress with a romantic pair of shoes. The lucky woman had lots of handsome male company.
