The summertime slowdown, coupled with the Covid cessation, has reduced the royal news to a trickle. Never fear, the hofdames traveled the virtual world and have found some interesting royal events for you to gaze upon!

The Spains simply don’t stop working, and there are some lovely throwback photos for Anne’s birthday. You can find them all here.
Britain
The big news was the appearance of Charles and Camilla at the National Service for the 75th anniversary of VJ Day. A somber event, for sure, and a moment in time that is rapidly slipping out of living memory and into the history books. Camilla was simply peak Cams here – wearing a fabulous hat and adding an excellent, duchessy touch with the detailing on her coat. Her clothing, however, did not overshadow the importance of the event, but enhanced it. These two are, quite simply, incredible at their jobs.
Prince William, who is suddenly looking very King-like to me, also made a speech in commeration of the anniversary.
Japan
6,000 miles away, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako took on their first public event in many months to commerate the same anniversary. The somber clothing was entirely respectful of the event, and did double duty by providing a good silhouette against the river of yellow flowers in the background.
Malaysia
We don’t often travel to this country, but I thought we could all use a shot of color. This was a family gathering and lunch in honor of the Sultan of Pahang’s birthday. The Sultan is the current hereditary constitutional head of Pahang, Malaysia. If you are interested in following this monarchy and are on Facebook, here is an excellent account for you.
Some lovely new photos of the Royal Family of #Pahang have been published today. The Sultan and the Tengku Ampuan (who are the current King and Queen of #Malaysia) are posing with their sons & daughters (with spouses) and three grandchildren. πΈhttps://t.co/mbSl7vZC6Q pic.twitter.com/ETwnLzmJPS

Kobi State/Central Nigeria
A royal wedding occurred, and it was a two day event to boot. The wedding was between the son of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, which is in the Ebira Kingdom/Kobi State in central Nigeria, and the daughter of two prominant businesspeople. The two day ceremony between Prince Malik and Adama Indimi began with Henan night on August 7 and was followed by the NIkkai Ceremony on August 8. The second set of photos from Zef Dahlia’s Twitter feed shows some of the beautiful and colorful dresses worn by the bride and the guests.

Virtual Vacationing with the Royals
This is very royal-adjacent, but I think most of you will thank me for bringing this to your attention for the scenery alone. Sarah Chatto’s son, Arthur Chatto, just completed a row-around Great Britain to support the work of the British Red Cross. Listening to posh British accents is always soothing to me. I don’t know about you, but I also enjoy leaving endurance sports to others.
