As a reminder, we have a post going on for the Dutch/German state visit. Also, make sure to get your votes in for the top five wedding dresses. All I can say about that horse race is that there has been an absolute avalanche of votes, and the current standings are a surprise. If you are invested in your favorite gowns, make sure to vote to get them in the top five. Voting will close Thursday at noon, ET.
That said, summer is ON here in the northern hemisphere. If you aren’t a fan of heat, it might be a tad too on. Regardless, it is here so let’s see how the royals are faring in the season.

The Prince of Wales continues on like the Energizer Bunny, the Duchess of Cambridge took to the Wimbledon kitchen, and the Queen received a visit from Angela Merkel – all here.
Back in the Bag
Flowing summer prints have been around for at least two years as this 2019 post indicates. You liked them with certain reservations, which continue to this day.
Britain
Who needs some Sophie energy? I should have saved my Energizer Bunny description for the Countess, who has been highly visible lately. She and the Earl attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Windsor Castle to watch Lady Louise compete. The Countess had a contemplative moment, which benefits us because it gives us a view of the fabulous hat.

Not content to watch others in the family in sporting activities, Sophie took on a tandem bike ride with the Vision Foundation at Bushy Park. She has been involved with the Foundation since Lady Louise was an infant. Having ridden a tandem bike, I can vouch for Sophie’s athleticism. Taking the lead on a bicycle built for two is no easy task.
Lady Louise herself is shown below, participating in the carriage ride. I cannot even begin to describe the hats on Louise or her mother, other than to say they were felt with feathers. Royal Hats, as usual, has a post up for you hat-lovers.
Something I missed in all the brouhaha over the Diana statue was that the sunken garden at Kensington has been re-designed. The lawn was widened and some of the late Princess’s favorite flowers were added.
Monaco
Princess Alexandra of Hanover attended a couple of shows during Paris Fashion Week. Here she is at the Chanel show, in Chanel separates, with Carole Bouquet. Ms. Bouquet is a famous French actress and Charlotte Casiraghi’s mother-in-law.
Proving to me that I will always prefer Dior to Chanel (AS IF I COULD AFFORD EITHER), she was seen outside the Dior show in Dior separates and I am in love. Shoes and bag are also Dior.
Her mother and sister, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Caroline, were spotted at the Grand Prix du Prince during the 15th international Monte-Carlo Jumping event. Caroline is wearing Halston. I like to think she was inspired by our recent post on Halston and her late mother. Charlotte is in Chanel. She is a spokesperson for them, so it’s not surprising she is representing the brand.
Spain
The Queen stepped out in an Adolfo Dominguez suit to visit the 75th Anniversary Of UNICEF’s exhibition at the Abertis Foundation. Bonus points for the royal lady ponytail and snazzy shoes.
Sweden
Princess Madeleine is visiting Sweden this summer, and she and Crown Princess Victoria attended a Peter Jöback concert at Solliden Palace on Öland. The women were wearing various floaty and patterned garments, as befits a summer event. The Crown Princess wore a Baum Und Pferdgarten Antoinette belted printed georgette midi dress, while Madeleine wore the Veronica Beard Shailene Skirt.
Sister date for #CrownPrincessVictoria and #PrincessMadeleine. TRH attended a concert at Solliden Palace tonight.
