Once A Royal Princess

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess living in Denmark, who went by the name of Alexandra.

Although the wife of the second son, she was very much “THE” princess of the land from 1995 to 2005, since the first son was footloose and fancy free, with no serious prospects on the horizon.

All fairytales don’t have a happy ending unfortunately, and Alex and Joachim went their separate ways.

Although she is no longer an official member, she still lives on the outskirts of the Danish Royal Family, both through her sons, Nikolai and Felix, and through her various patronages, many of which were retained after her divorce.

And now and again, if we’re reeeeealy lucky, she gets invited to fancy court events, where we’re once again treated to her wedding tiara, The Alexandrine Drop, which she was graciously allowed to keep. But do not despair! I have a feeling it will ultimately reenter the main branch of the family once again, through her sons.
