Open Post – Spain’s National Day 2022

Yes, it’s National Day in Spain again, which means a military parade and a reception. Typically, it also means that the Queen wears Varela. Will this hold for 2022? We’ll have to wait and see. Princess Leonor will not be in attendance since she is still at school in Wales, but Infanta Sofia will attend with her parents.

Some early photos of the parade have come in; we’ll keep checking for better, full-length shots. In the meantime, Baguette Iselen has posted some in the comments. Letizia has stepped away from Varela for this event. It’s a flowing number in a typical Spanish autumn color, with an interesting neckline detail.

Both she and the Infanta wore polka-dots (lunares), a very Spanish detail. The Infanta’s dress is by Carolina Herrera.

There’s a very interesting braided bun on the Queen, too.
