Open Post – Wessex Caribbean Tour Updated Day 7!

Heaven love them, the British Royals have another senior couple touring the Caribbean this week. The Earl and Countess of Wessex begin their Platinum Jubilee tour in Saint Lucia on Friday and from there will make visits to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Antigua and Barbuda before returning to Britain on April 28. The Grenada portion of the visit has been canceled.

Arrival – Day One

The Earl and Countess arrived in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia this afternoon. The Countess wore a Giuliva Heritage Dora Dress and Chloé Eliza Sandals. They were welcomed at the airport and met with both the Governor-General and Prime Minister. (H/T to UFONoMore for their usual on-the-spot identification).

Day Two

The couple landed at the airport in  Argyle, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines. The Countess is wearing the Soler Villamarie Bea Henley Maxi Dress, and Ed looks surprisingly cool in his grey suit.

Day Three

The couple traveled to Saint Lucia and attended a church service to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief to see this lovely Suzannah ‘Cora’ polka dot tea dress and Prada pumps. She carried the Sophie Habsburg ‘Bean’ bag.

Day Four

For a visit to the Prime Minister’s office in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, the Countess chose a blue and white Suzannah dress that is new to her wardrobe.

Sophie and Ed then met with local craftspeople in the garden of the Government House.

Later, they went to the harbor to visit the National Sailing Academy and stopped by an exhibition on cultural activities. Honestly, I went with Ed’s photo here first because Sophie’s Soler Frida dress just didn’t do it for me.

Day Five

It’s a Me & Em dress for Sophie on Day Five for a reception with the Governor-General in Saint Lucia.

The Countess met up with Cyril Haynes, a World War II veteran. This does my heart good – I tend to think the senior set is underserved by royals. I really do like her hair.

Day Six

Sophie and Ed trekked down to see Sulphur Springs on Saint Lucia. I am big impressed with Ed doing a walk in such an environment in a sports coat, but he seemed unfazed. Sophie seemed to hear our fatigue with the series of prints and flowing dresses, instead opting for a pair of crop pants and a colorful shirt.

She wore a couple of print dresses for events later in the day, a tiny print for the day, and a bolder one from Erdem for an evening reception. Anysia Charles, wife of Governor-General of Saint Lucia, Errol Charles, is pictured with the Countess, looking wonderful in her hat and dress (and I am just thankful that at last Getty has identified someone in the photos with the royals.

Day Seven

Sophie and Ed had a meeting with the staff and students from a number of St Lucian schools. Sophie is wearing a brand we have seen a lot of this trip, Soler. This is their Lisa Dress in White Lolita Original.

It was a bit of windy visit to Pigeon Island National Landmark.

You know the drill, we’ll update with official photos but in the meantime, add your observations in the comments! We probably will be a little tardy updating this weekend, since a couple of the Hofdames are FINALLY experiencing some spring weather!
