You might know that Princess Aisha is King Abdullah’s sister, but did you know she was a twin? She and her twin sister, Zein, were born in 1968. They are the youngest children of King Hussein and Princess Muna al-Hussein. Aisha is on the right below.
Aisha is said to be confident and intelligent, and she is certainly well educated. Her parents divorced in 1972, and in 1976 Aisha moved to the United States. She attended boarding school in Bethesda, MD, and attended high school at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA, graduating in 1986. She completed a course at Sandhurst in 1987, and then attended Pembroke College, in Oxford, achieving an undergraduate degree in Modern Middle East History and Politics. In June 2010 she completed her Masters of Arts degree in Strategic Security Studies.

It is said that Princess Aisha was the first female in the Middle East to successfully complete 5 military jumps and obtain her parachutist wings. As a lieutenant colonel in the Jordanian military, the princess is a strong supporter of women’s rights and has dedicated herself to working on behalf of women in Jordan. The princess maintains that women in Jordan should be encouraged to achieve any qualifications they desire, and hold positions at all levels of private enterprise, the government and the military.

Princess Aisha married Zeid Saadedine Juma and had two children, Aoun and Muna. The couple has since divorced. The princess and her children live in the United States.
Aisha can wear uniform as well as anyone, and that is my favorite outfit on her. However, she also wears the takes on traditional Jordanian clothing beautifully, such as the above outfit from Kumbaz.
Hashemite women get it done! For more information on Aisha, see her entry on the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, United States.
