Postcard dated June 26, 1905, from Princess Ena of Battenberg to Prince Alfonso of Spain. It included a photo of the wedding party of Princess Margaret of Connaught to Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden, with Ena on the far left. Ena wrote in French because she didn’t speak Spanish and Alfonso spoke a bit of English, but didn’t write it.

Ena admits they all look terrible and like they’re about to cry in this group picture. She hopes Alfonso will find it funny. She also tells him she’s going to attend a ball at the court, but she won’t dance a quadrille as amusing as the one she danced with him. Signed: your devoted friend.
