Random Royaling – “Together at Christmas”

The Duchess of Cambridge hosted the “Together at Christmas” Community Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, which honored those who have served their community during the pandemic. She was accompanied by her husband and had the support of a good contingent of her family.

The Duchess’ Catherine Walker red coat dress was both festive and appropriate for a gathering in a religious setting. She wore the black version of the coat/dress to Prince Philip’s funeral service earlier this year. She also made a festive earring choice, the Sapphire Fringe earrings, owned at one time by the Queen Mother. Someday she’ll wear these with her hair back, I know it ; ), although we got a better look at them during this outing.

Princess Eugenie came to the event stag, and we speculated she left Jack at home to watch the baby. She wore a swinging Chloe cape and warm boots.

The Countess of Wessex was there with Prince Edward (although I didn’t snag a photo of him, unfortunately). She had some lovely maquillage and a smart updo.

Speaking of smart, Princess Beatrice and Edo made a dashing couple and I just love this The Fold “Finchley” coat, and that is a good thing since it appears again tonight.

Look – a Zara and Mike sighting. I feel like it’s been a minute since we saw them (although when I checked we did see Zara recently at the races). Ms. Tindall – whose coat game is always strong – is wearing a Really Wild “Pembridge” design.

The Middleton family showed up to support the oldest daughter. I always find Carole Middleton to be fetched up proper, and tonight is no exception. The deep plum – maybe burgundy – works for her.

The newlyweds, Alizee and James, were also in attendance. I wonder if Princess Victoria has checked her closet to see if one of her suits is missing? All kidding aside, Alizee pulls it all with aplomb.

Pippa Matthews was soigne in the other The Fold “Finchley” coats to make an appearance. I love the color on her, but it’s no surprise. Her sister looks great in green, too.
