Princes Charles and his lovely wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, made a glamorous pair as they arrived at the British Museum for the British Asian Trust dinner. The Duchess wore a deep green velvet caftan-inspired dress over evening trousers. She paired it with the Saudi Emerald Suite necklace, matching the deep green of the necklace with the green in the ensemble. I can’t quite discern her earrings, but I don’t think they are the matching pair, which can be seen below in the 2009 outing. but our Baguette on the case Wendy did figure out they were the matching emerald pair! Also, Baguette Royal Warrant discovered the bracelet on her wrist. It was full suite outing.
She’s worn this necklace several times, so it is obviously comfortable for her. Let’s see how it compares to a tiara-wearing event, shall we? For the South African State Visit in 2015, the Duchess paired the necklace with the Greville Tiara, with her Pear Drop Diamond Demi-Parure Earrings, and her Royal Family Order.

In 2009, the Duchess debuted this set and wore the full suite, including the necklace and bracelet. This was a more casual (in its way) outing, for the Royal Gala Performance of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. The jewelry was a contrast to the light jacket, and it fell nicely into the open neckline.
The British Asian Trust dinner always brings out some incredible ensembles, so we just had to throw some additional clothes as an addendum to this jewelry re-wear. Enjoy, and I hope that all the loveliness takes you through your weekend! (Thank you Baguette Juniperfj for all the information on the garments – much appreciated!)
MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murthy, were in attendance. Ms. Murthy’s off-the-shoulder gown is lavishly embellished across the neckline.
Home Secretary Priti Patel wore a lehenga choli and necklace that I could simply stare at all day long. The blouse (choli) can come in many styles with more or less coverage.
TV and radio broadcaster Neev Spencer is a sparkling deep green sea in this swishy number. This is also a lehenga choli.
Film director Gurinder Chadha looks spectacular in this dark Anarkali suit, which is like a floor-length salwar kameez with white trim. See more information here: www dot.kreeva.dot.com/blog/evolution-of-anarkali-suits/
Glamour and sparkle enough to send us deep into the weekend – sigh!
