It goes without saying that much of the northern hemisphere is hot right now. I thought we could use a dive into something refreshing this Friday. White is as refreshing as it gets, right?
Let’s take a look at the white outfits worn by our royals (during this heat wave and in previous years) and render our opinions on which one we find the coolest. The “coolest” as in the most refreshing, although if you want to factor in hipness, too, I won’t stop you.
Queen Letizia
Could anything be cooler than this recent appearance by Queen Letizia in a Sfera Guipure lace dress? The chic updo helps with the cooling effect.
Crown Princess Mary
Back in 2015, Mary wore this white Willow jacquard sheath, pulled her hair off of her face in a half-updo, and appeared cool and confident in the heat.

Queen Maxima
Combine a broad-brimmed shady hat, caramel accessories, and a white stretch Gucci dress, and you have one cool cucumber in Queen Maxima.

Duchess of Cambridge
In the heat of Wimbledon 2019, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared cool and composed in her white Susannah London, accessorized with an Alexander McQueen belt.
Princess Charlene
Can a trouser suit look cool? If it’s white and pressed and crisp, like this Akris suit worn by Princess Charlene in 2014, it can.
Crown Princess Victoria
During the 2014 Victoria Day celebrations, the Crown Princess appeared looking super chilled in a white dress with a full skirt, accessorized with a cardigan and an adorable young daughter.
