Random Royaling – Luxembourg Tiara Surprise

Wow, after a couple of contentious weeks of royal watching, this surpise was just nice.

Grand Duke Henri, Hereditary Grand Duke Guilliamle, Grand Duchess Stephanie and Princess Alexandra received representatives of the judiciary and diplomatic corps during a New Years reception at the Grand Ducal Palace. Unfortunately, Grand Duchess Maria Theresa was unavailable. She is out of the country visiting her younger brother, who is seriously ill.

The dress code for this event was upgraded to uniforms, gowns and tiaras this year. In previous years, it has been a cocktail event. Apparently gala dress code is being moved from National Day, which is a day that is packed full of activities, to this event. I am not complaining. We are a bit tiara-deprived this month.

Stephanie looks simply wonderful here. She is wearing a blue dress by Seraphim LTD (identified by UFOnomore) and the Sapphire Necklace Tiara, which the now (sadly defunct) Luxurazzi has described here. Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte wore it in tiara form, but Maria-Theresa has only worn it as a necklace. Three cheers to Stephanie for bringing it back as a tiara, although it appears the sapphires are a bit hidden in her hair. And that necklace – well, let’s just say she ices up very well.

I am living for her hair, here, too. I provides a wonderful tiara backdrop! Svenja on Twitter has some lovely photos.

Alexandra is wearing a top and jacket previously worn by her mother (and also previously worn by Alex herself). I have mixed feelings about the Luxembourg clothes sharing, as you know. I do not have mixed feelings about this outing of the Chaumet Diamond and Pearl choker, which looks just right here.
