The Polar Music Prize ceremony was held yesterday at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm. The King, Queen, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip all attended, Princess Sofia stayed at home to tend to some under-the-weather children.
This year’s laureates are Ensemble intercontemporain and Iggy Pop (Iggy is from my hometown, Detroit. He also played at my high school in the late sixties, a few years before I attended it.: )
I take back everything I ever said about evening trousers. Victoria looks fab. u. lous. I have been longing for her to go back to pared-back Vickan and boy she did it with a vengeance. This black off-the-shoulder Totême ensemble is the definition of sleek chic, and it sure makes that nosegay pop. She also went – wisely – with pared-back accessories. Honestly, she often *doesn’t* do that, so I am all in on the styling here.
On the other hand, the Queen went head to toe in silver sequins and cozied up in a red shawl. She also did not go subtle, accessory-wise, but sported some major silver danglers. She did let us see the whole dress at a couple of points in the proceedings, but the photos are unfortunately at a distance.
French contemporary music ensemble Intercontemporain accepted their prize from the King.
The King presented the prize to my hometown boy Iggy, and I have to admit I wonder what goes through Carl Gustaf’s head at moments like this. Of course, he’s seen it all so it’s probably all in a day’s work.
HA!
Victoria, Daniel, and Estelle were out today, too.
Crown Princess Victoria today is wearing her Mayla jacket, H&M skirt, Gianvito Rossi pumps, Valentino bag, ans Ebba Brahe earrings. Princess Estelle is wearing a Bonpoint outfit with Bonpoint shoes.
