Random Royaling – Princess Isabella’s Confirmation

Welcome to a surprise Saturday post, brought to you courtesy of a lovely young woman making her confirmation. H/T to Heaven of UFO No More and Royal Watcher on Twitter for lightning fast identifications.

Princess Isabella was confirmed today at the Fredensborg Palace Church. The royal Chaplain-in-Ordinary, bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, officiated. The Princess will be celebrated privately by family and friends afterward, however as usual the royal house graciously allowed photographs before the ceremony. There were some fun jewel debuts and sweet royal shares.

Princess Isabella wore Crown Princess Mary’s Max Mara sleeveless jumpsuit and blazer and her sister, Princess Josephine, wore a Ganni dress. That dress was worn several years ago by Princess Isabella. (H/T to UFO No More).

Isabella wore a brooch that is softly lovely, but the most important thing to note about it is that is a family heirloom, gifted to her by Queen Margrethe at her christening. She also did my heart good by blinging up her hair!

Crown Princess Mary debuted Queen Margrethe’s Antique Turquoise earrings. She paired them with her Andrew GN dress which features a turquoise buckle. It is a sophisticated matchup, as we expect from the Poppins Princess.

The Queen wore a brilliant blue ensemble and beamed throughout. I’m not sure if that sapphire brooch is from the stash of gems she inherited from her grandmother Queen Alexandrine, but it sure is gorgeous!

The extended family, including Prince Joachim and his brood, lent support. Princess Marie wore an Emporio Armani suit, and little Princess Athena held up her sartorial end in a Jacadi dress. That is some subtle but great family coordination with the pinks/peaches/white and grandmother standing out in blue.

This is just so lovely. Enjoy the inter-generational support!
