Random Royaling – Regatta

The Cambridge family went regatting at the King’s Cup, which is held off the Isle of Wight in Cowes. I know nothing of sailing or regattas. It was all for good causes, so let’s dive in, focus on the clothes, and glide by the subject of which we are lacking knowledge ; ).

The arrival outfit is …well, here it is. The shirt is Sandro, the trouser pant is a repeat LK Bennett, and that is all I am going to say on the subject of this ensemble.

Kate sailed for the Royal Foundation, relating to her work on early child development. William sailed his yacht on behalf of Child Bereavement UK. They changed into sporty gear, and honestly, I think those two would wear this type of stuff to every engagement if it were allowed. I have rarely seen them so comfortable. I just wish I could achieve that type of even tan on my legs and be that fit. I would wear shorts year around.

The actual sailing looked cold. And windy. And hard. I am obviously not a sailor, but the Cambridge duo looked perfectly at home. Kate’s boat was unfortunately disqualified, and there was some ribbing from her spouse at the awards ceremony.

Granddad Mike and Gran Carole were on hand to lend support. Both George and Charlotte were there, too, adding to the general esprit de corps of the whole endeavor. Charlotte, in the grand tradition of her uncle Harry and Danish neighbor, Princess Josephine, had a moment when the urge to stick out her tongue just overcame her.

The cutest child moment didn’t come from the Cambridge children, though. That belongs to this young lass and her deep curtsy. It was a curtsy so grand, it quite impressed the Duchess and Queen-to-be. I doubt I could do half as well.
