Random Royaling – Sainte Devote

Ready to burn a boat, gang? Yes, it’s Sainte Devote time again! Here’s a refresher if you are rusty on the details.

Princess Charlene of Monaco, Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, Prince Jacques of Monaco and Princess Gabriella of Monaco were all present at the fire last night. Mélanie is a second cousin to Prince Albert. Her grandmother was Antoinette, Prince Ranier’s sister.

The tailored trouser and long coat combination is very popular among female royals this year – we’ve seen the Princess of Wales, Crown Princess Mary and now Princess Charlene all sport this look. It works for Charlene particularly well. That short hair is a perfect foil for this sleek ensemble. You can’t see much of it, but under the coat she is wearing an Akris suit.

I cannot tell if the twins were just feeling very warm toward each other, or if they were overwhelmed by the fire they created, but these shots are cute nonetheless. Gabriella’s coat is by Emporio Armani.

Princess Charlene attended the holiday mass this morning, wearing shades of grey. I don’t have any firm intel on this ensemble, but it feels like Akris to me. We’ll verify as the day goes on. I wish for a straight hem, as always, but this is a solid outing for HSH.

I really need to update my doodle. Princess Charlene has reached peak serene, I do believe.

Although asymptomatic, Prince Albert did test positive for covid, so he is taking all precautions. He did not appear at the public events and wore a mask on the balcony appearance with the rest of the family.
