Open Post – State Visit in Spain

When things open up, they REALLY open up! State visits are back on the schedule, and South Korea is up first, paying a 2-day visit to Spain. This is the first visit to Spain by a South Korean president in 14 years, and it’s purpose is to further celebrate and deepen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. The President’s trip was originally scheduled for last year, when it would have marked the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Spain and South Korea.

The President and First Lady also attended a banquet later in the evening.

Definitely not what we’re used to when it comes to a state banquet, but very much in keeping with the times we are currently living in.

So while I’m not sure it will give us a lot to talk about, we can surely still get excited over a State Visit and banquet, right?
