Earlier we talked about the ubiquitous flowing summer of prints, but there have been a few entries that have bucked the trend on a couple of my favorite royal ladies. Let’s take a look.
Oh, Camilla, your sartorial life still brings me delight. This is still a floral print, but it does have a nice, relaxed silhouette that fits without constricting or falling into the oversized category. Perfect for a visit to the Festival of Food and Crafts, where beverages were sipped and food admired and consumed. The print, in my view, passes the “works both close up and when one sees it from afar” test.
Letizia attended audiences at Zarzuela Palace wearing a Zara tweed dress that is fitted through the bodice with a long, slightly swingy skirt. Still summery, but a little structure, a little less flow, and a lot less floral, makes it a nice change.
She also appeared at the ‘Queen Letizia 2018 Awards’ in a hot pink Carolina Herrera fit and flare, with the focus on fit through the bodice and super flare through the skirt. Screams summertime to me. Some of you may want to avoid looking at the shoes, though.
Are these an antidote to the oversized flowing print fatigue? Let us know!
