We’re turning away from the United Kingdom just for a moment. I believe Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, would understand that life, and royaling, go on.
Next Tuesday, September 20, is the 2022 Prinsjesdag, or Dutch budget day. The Dutch royals attended the Council of State dinner at Noordeinde Palace, The Hague in advance of the day. The King and Queen were in attendance, and we had a lovely Queen-in-Training sighting.
Queen Maxima wore her 2016 Prinsjesdag outfit in its original form, which we recently featured as a re-wear. It’s a versatile outift and I am sorry we didn’t see more of it during this outing.

The Princess of Orange wore a new dress by Mac Duggal, a lovely updo in her spectacular hair, and Queen Juliana’s aquamarines. It was the princess’s first time co-hosting the biennial dinner.

Unfortunately we don’t have great photos of the earrings up close, so we hope to see them on her again. Baguette Triple A has generously shared some information on the earrings from his own Instagram page.

This is not a coordinating parure but matching aquamarines that were a gift to Queen Juliana. It began with the tiara, an 18th birthday present to then Princess Juliana. The briolette cut earrings were a wedding gift from Princess Juliana’s mother-in-law and have been since reset onto new diamond pendants.
