Queen Maxima-Never-Minima knows how to celebrate a landmark birthday. Her family and her country have been partying with her, and who can blame them? Let’s check up on the birthday events leading up to the big day itself (which is being marked with our other, Spamtastic, post).
We’ve followed along a little bit with the “More Music in Classroom” (Méér Muziek in de Klas) project. You can see a previous event here, and the very beginning, which is shown here. This initiative – launched for the Queen’s 50th birthday – has been 50 days of promotion for more music education in the primary school curriculum. Recently, Maxima paid two visits for the program, one to the ECI Cultuurfabriek in Roermond and then to the openlucht theater Cabrio in Soest. She repeated a skirt and blouse from 2019 (without a bow this time) a hair decoration (maybe a hat maybe just a headband) by Fabienne Delvigne. She completed her ensemble with her Steltman Pink Morganite Earrings.
To mark her birthday, Maxima was interviewed by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk in her office, which is in The Hague at Huis ten Bosch Palace. It’s always good to see that room again, right? She wore her ribbon skirt by Lena Hoschek, with her mustard blouse. We saw the entire ensemble previously at the Prince Bernhard Awards in 2020. We defended it, in fact, and at the time most folks were in favor.
The whole family attended a performance titled “Queen Maxima a life full of music” at the Royal Theater Carré in The Hague. The event will be broadcast as a TV special tonight.
Let’s start with the guest of honor. Queen Maxima leaned into her fiftieth by wearing an Iris van Herpen gown. van Herpen is known as a designer who pushes the edges. It’s fitting that the first royal who would publicly take the plunge in one of her creations would be Maxima. She wore the shortened version of Queen Wilhemina’s Emerald and Diamond necklace.
The Princess of Orange and Princess Beatrix made a cute couple, right? Amalia wore a Needle & Thread maxi dress, and Oma was attired in a very Oma fashion.
Princesses Alexia wore a Maje dress and Ariane was in a Needle & Thread maxi.
Finally, three new photos have been published to mark her birthday. The photos were taken early this month by the King in the garden of Huis ten Bosch Palace.
Happy birthday, Queen Maxima! After talking about these events, head over to the other post and start your spamming!
