Random Royaling – The Wessex Caribbean Tour

Any Baguette or Hofdude who has been hanging out on Bits knows I have been kvetching over the lack of coverage of the Wessex Caribbean tour. Well, we have managed to scrape together some photos, and thanks to the ever-reliable UFO NoMore and New My Royals, some actual clothing identification.

The Cayman Islands

The Earl and Countess of Wessex are on a Caribbean tour that included visits to the Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, and the Bahamas. The couple landed in the Caymans and were greeted by the Governor, and later were guests at a reception in their honor. The Countess wore a ME & EM deep blue dress for the arrival and a printed Zimmermann number for the reception. You can see the dresses at UFONoMore.

The second day in the Caymans was busy, with lots of wardrobe changes. The couple went their separate ways for most of the day, with the Earl visiting one of his patronages, the Central Caribbean Marine Institute. The Countess attended a Empowering Women in Finance breakfast (in a very businesslike Gabriela Hearst suit) and then headed for a visit to a YMCA camp wearing an Etro midi.

In the evening, the Countess was present at the dinner hosted by the 100 Women in Finance. She wore a ruffle neck ME & EM blouse (that designer is a bit of a theme for this trip) and a rewear of her Carolina Herrera eyelet skirt.

The Countess had one last event before leaving the Caymans, a visit to an agricultural show – we know she loves those! The dress is by – shocker! – ME & EM. It’s a chambray dress in a style similar to her arrival dress.

Turks and Caicos

They landed at Turks and Caicos in the afternoon and were met by both the Governor and Premier at the airport. The countess is in a floral Giambattista Valli midi with a nifty belt and gold buttons.

In the evening they headed out to another reception where the Countess debuted a new dress – a pleated midi with an interesting neckline treatment.

I added this photo because it’s a good shot of the Roksanda dress the Countess is wearing, but I knew the brooch babes would want to take a look at the pin sported by the lady in blue.

Weigh In!

The visit is ongoing – they’ve already moved on to the Bahamas – and if we manage to find more photos or information, we’ll drop them here! I the meantime, let us know what you think!

What design works for her here?
