Rania Hits the Road

She’s been busy. Last week, the Queen, the King, and the Crown Prince of Jordan lunched with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace in London. The whole event was royal poetry. Princess Anne dropped an incredibly impressive curtsy, and King Abdullah maintained amazing posture throughout the whole proceeding. So far, I haven’t seen an ID on Rania’s dress, but I do like it. It’s a great color for her, and the styling is more subdued than her usual. I love the Amini Muaddi lavendar shoes.

The Queen and King also visited Westminster Abbey, laid a wreath, and signed the guest book. It’s a sober outing and Rania’s Fendi dress is a sober choice, and another one of which I completely approve. There is such a sophisticated interplay of gray and red and black in this photo that my frivolous side almost believes this entire photograph was composed in advance. That can’t be possible. Can it?

She’s also featured in this month’s Harper Bazaar, Arabia, here: https://www.harpersbazaararabia.com/fashion/editorials/queen-rania-march-cover-2019. All the outfits in the piece are beautiful complements to a stunning woman. The tiara, or headband, however, is not speaking to me. Call me crazy, but I think if a Queen wears a tiara on the cover of a magazine, it should be a substantial tiara. It may not have fit with the theme, which is subdued, but it would do our sparkle starved hearts some good.
