Royal Shares and Rewears – Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s Triple Threat

Hofdame Note: There will be an Open Post this weekend for the British Remembrance Day ceremonies. Unfortunately, the Hofdames will only be intermittently available *and* we still have our Getty embed issue. We rely on our Baguettes and Hofdudes to fill in with photos and lots of comments!

We don’t have a designer ID on this much-loved and much-worn dress. If you know, please clue us in! This white gown with the embroidered neckline and 3/4 sleeves (with more embroidery) has staying power. It’s also a consistent tiara supporter. Flattering, versatile, and re-wearable in all seasons. A triple threat for her.

2021 Dutch State Visit

It was most recently worn during the Dutch State Visit last year, complete with the bold yellow sash and that dainty Diamond Daisy tiara tucked above an elegant updo.

For the sartorial splash that was Crown Prince Frederik’s 50th birthday party, Mette-Marit paired it with the blue sash and went with a hair-down headband Diamond Daisy appearance.

2017 Harald and Sonja’s 80th Birthday Celebrations

For the never-to-be-repeated funfest that was Harald and Sonja’s 80th birthday celebration, Mette-Marit wore her hair up and – surprise! – added the Vifte tiara as a sparkler.
