Brace yourself, friends…get a snack, a cup of tea/coffee (or a cocktail for some of you!) and settle in for our combo platter of blue and indigo. This promises to be a doozy, since many of our ladies have wings of their homes dedicated to their clothing of these colors. Sweden
Madeleine wore this delightful floral to celebrate her sister’s 40th birthday back in 2017. One of her finest appearances, in my eyes.
Victoria wore this fab gown to Mr. & Mrs. Norway’s 80th birthday celebrations.
I quite like this entry from Silvia, worn to Mr. & Mrs. Monaco’s wedding festivities.

Spain
Letizia’s first official visit to Britain brought out this gorgeous gown and it did not disappoint. Also, the dude to her left could have come out of any recent century, am I right?
Sofia wore this lovely creation and I really appreciate the subtle train action going on here.

Belgium
Mathilde in her breathtaking Natan dress for her first official queenly portrait. Le sigh.

Norway
Astrid has a few blue dresses that I couldn’t decide between so you’ve got both to view in this slideshow. Simple designs with a bit of fun suit this lady quite nicely.
Mette-Marit? Get it gurrrl. You look fab. Except for the bib in the third photo.
And OH HOW I LOVE this outfit of Sonja’s. I know it’s a stretch to have it in the blue category, but I had to include it somewhere and the brooch (!) made me bring it to blue. Serious googly heart eyes happening over here.
Qatar
Mozah at Wax’s inauguration makes me do a sharp inhale every time.
Take a deep breath folks—we haven’t even gotten to Britain yet! Stretch out if you need to!
Netherlands
Please allow me some room for my beloved Oma. Here’s a look at this somewhat simple (for this lady) day dress worn to the civil wedding of one of the many van Vollenhoven nephews.
An evening selection sans sleeves(!) in London with her pal Betty.
And, finally a sparkly number when Albert Monaco came to visit (bonus sighting of some blue jewels for next week).
One of my top 5 Maxima outfits ever contains a hefty amount of blue. I love it every time I see it.
The current top lady should have this dress in every single color.
Our final Maxima entry is this Natan dress. She looks amazing in this dress. It also is kind of surprising me how many Natan items I have been liking upon secondary review.
Jordan
Noor worn this blue caftan to an awards show in 2009. A bit of a modern take on a classic garment, to my eye.
Love the color blocking from Rania with this entry, but absolutely hear a giant needle scratch when we get to the shoes.
Greece
Anne Marie wore this lovely dark gown at Sweden #1’s wedding (already 9 years ago!) with her rubies. I’ve always appreciated this combination, though I had wanted the pendants removed from the necklace to be smoother here.
And here is Marie Chantal in a lovely saturated number at cousin-in-law Natalie’s 2011 wedding. She doesn’t wear a lot of the deeper colors very often, so I’m drawn to this particular occasion.
And Tatiana makes her first Handbag appearance in this very, very icy blue gown worn at Sweden #2’s wedding.
Denmark
Our Lady of Classy Dressing Benedikte gives us this blue gown from Daisy’s 70th birthday celebrations.
I’ve always enjoyed Margrethe’s light blue dress from her cousin Captain Sweden’s 70th birthday celebrations.
Mary. Ahhhh, Mary. Long live the Bambi.
Britain
Elizabeth at her sister Margaret’s 1960 wedding has always been a favorite of mine. I do love a Norman Hartnell…hmmmm maybe we’ll have to do a feature on his designs.

Look at this gorgeous gown…I don’t think I’ve seen this teal dress before and I’m really taken by it.

The amount of blue in Mrs. Cambridge’s home is absolutely stupifying…and I limit myself to this one example. It is legitimately my favorite blue in her wardrobe.
Camilla was lovely in this pale blue at Wax’s inauguration…but you know I truly love the giant floofy hat, right?
Meghan sparkled in this fab navy gown.
And finally, Margaret being only as Margaret could have been…rocking out a turquoise shiny gown with a cape for her mother’s 90th birthday celebrations.
I’m exhausted and I left SO much out!
Which of these blue gowns strike your fancy? Are there any you would like to see again?
