Hello there everyone–guess what? It’s time for another edition of ROYGBIV and today we’re talking green. For a refresher, take a look back at Red, Orange, and Yellow!
Spain
Infanta Cristina wore an interesting gown to Crown Princess of Victoria’s wedding in 2010. This isn’t necessarily a favorite of mine, but it is really interesting and Miss Lady looked like she was feeling it.
Here we have Queen Sofia looking fresh as a daisy in this April 2017 outfit. I love the textures and this shade of green for this particular lady, and think it will look even better on her now that she has toned down the hair color a bit.
Speaking of Daisy’s…now you know that grammar is making me nuts, but I couldn’t resist the terrible joke.
Denmark
YASSSS QUEEN! My memory is telling me that Big Green Apple made her debut for a theater appearance during her 2010 birthday celebrations. I remember this year purely because this gown was repeated at Sweden #1’s wedding in 2010. The wedding was absolutely the gown’s finest outing. Just look at it! Swoon-worthy here, but not always so for me. Bonus Oma sighting as well.
Greece
The 2001 Met Gala’s theme was Jacqueline Kennedy, The White House Years and Marie-Chantal of Greece was prepared. Here she is escorted by Valentino, wearing Valentino.
Morocco
Salma at Willem-Alexander’s inauguration in 2013 was a sight to behold. Look at all that gorgeous fabric. And all that gorgeous hair! I miss her on the royal scene.
United Kingdom
The Countess of Wessex has been in a style rut lately, so let’s bring back one of her finest appearances. Just lovely.
Elizabeth visiting Finland in 1976 had a green evening gown, which is a surprising pattern to me for this lady.
And because she’s Betty, she gets another entry. The only thing I hate about this photo is that I cannot find a full length photo in color to share. This dress is fantastic.

Sweden
Now YOU KNOW I wanted to put Kermit in here, but we’ve discussed that dress recently. Instead I include this lovely gown wore to the 2018 incoming Italian state visit. Hubba hubba.
And here is my favorite look of Silvia, ever. She made me gasp when she arrived at Sweden #3’s wedding on the arm of #2. Figure flattering, deceptively simple, and simply gorgeous. Swoon.
Netherlands
This green entry from Máxima is one of my favorite dresses of all time. This was worn when Albert Monaco came to visit in 2014. Bonus points to Oma for wearing one of my favorite tiaras, which we’ll see soon in ROYGBIV Blue jewels.
Monaco
And from 2017, we have Charléne wearing this gorgeous creation with a traditional neckpiece. Slay girl, slay.
