We are reallllllly stretching our ROYGBIV category now with this week’s entry in our series, but by popular request, I present Stripes! For me, stripes are much like gold. Very easy to look garish, but also the potential to look absolutely spectacular. Let’s get started!
Sweden
Victoria has worn this striped Dolce & Gabbana dress several times and I love it more each time I see it. These photos are from her dad’s 70th birthday party and display excellent family matching without being over the top.
Silvia wore this gown to the Nobels in the early 1990s. It’s…a lot.
Netherlands
Maxima wore this Mary Katrantzou dress to a children’s concert in 2016 and I think she nailed it. It’s not a “pretty” dress per se, but I think she carries it off quite well. Not everyone can wear Katrantzou, much less wear it well.

I loved this dress Mathilde wore back in 2018. All the angles really work for her sometimes difficult to dress figure.
Norway
Martha Louise wore this interesting gown to Mary & Frederik’s wedding. I don’t love this dress, but can appreciate the details.
