After spending last week at Castle Mey, the Duke of Rothesay assumed the role of guest chieftain at the Mey Highland Games, in the wonderfully named village of John O’Groats. Charles showed off his kilt skills while monitoring the tug of war and other activities. Let’s all appreciate this, shall we?
Charles was not the only Windsor man in a kilt. Sarah Chatto’s son Samuel also attended. I am relieved that someone in the younger generation is carrying on the kilt tradition, and doing it well, right?
Daniel Chatto, Sarah’s husband and Samuel’s father, did not appear in a kilt, but he did wear an intriguing suit that has hofdames at odds. Is the grass green suit with the windowpane check fabulously fun and new? Or icky and offputting? Read the comments to find which hofdame thinks what ; ).
Bring on the kilts in the comments. Royals are always welcome, but since kilts can flatter many a man, let’s not limit ourselves in this one instance – any or all men in kilts are welcome.
