We haven’t had a good spam post in a while. Let’s make that right! I’ll start with my favorite, Queen Alexandrine’s Pearl and Diamond brooch. It originally appeared on Queen Alexandrine in the early part of the twentieth century. (A hint as to my second favorite – note the header image!)
The brooch was inherited by Queen Margrethe, who in turn gave it to her granddaughter Princess Isabella for her baptism. For the brooch babes who worry that the young ‘uns don’t seem to take to them, it has been worn, and recently! Isabella debuted the piece at her Uncle Joachim’s fiftieth birthday party, and wore it last year at her confirmation.
In “A queen’s jewelery box – 50 years as a regent told in jewelery” #QueenMargrethe revealed the baptism gift for #PrincessIsabella in 2007, a brooch with diamonds, a white & pink pearl. It came with a written note, in which HM explained the origin.
