It was a solemn occasion, of course, but there were lots of smiles, and a general relaxed atmosphere. Have I mentioned my love of velvet? I think this is velvet on Mary, and the lovely textural contrast with the skirt adds some interest. I am on the lookout for some better photos of Marie’s dress, which somewhat disappears into the night here.
