This weekend marks the end of Wimbledon, and today’s Women’s Finals between Serena Williams and Simona Halep, as well as the Men’s Doubles Finals between France and Colombia, saw some heavy hitting royal attendees. Kate, Meghan and (surprise!) Pippa were there to cheer on the action. (Meghan headed home after the Women’s match, so only Kate and Pippa took in the Doubles match.) Kate arrived first to attend a luncheon and meet with junior players in her role as patron, then it was on to the Royal Box.
Lady Sophie Windsor was there as well, in a fabulous Catherine Walker creation. It looks so cool and comfy. And I don’t even mind the wedges!

One of the cutest things I’ve seen in a long time was Wimbledon Champion Simona Halep’s post match interview. She’s apparently a huge fan of Kate and the British royals! She mentioned them several times, and seemed really tickled when she was told she would get to meet them. If you haven’t seen the interview, you really should. It’s great.
“Have you ever played a better match than that?”

And she did get to meet her!
Well , whew, the Men’s Final was about as exciting a finish as you could wish for, right? Congratulations to Novak Djokovic on a hard fought, thrilling win.
Congrats, also, to Kate who wore a beautiful light blue Emilia Wickstead. Both coloring and silhouette flattered her. What Kate Wore has the details, including intel on the baroque pearl earrings and the chunky heel shoes.
Just because I like this expression ; ). The Great Kate Face is full effect here.
She also got her husband to coordinate with her, so we get Wills in shades o’ blue. I may be projecting, but I don’t think he is as interested in the tennis as his wife. Points, though, for looking cool in shades, dude.
The Duke of Kent was in attendance, too, although there was a changing of the guard as Kate awarded the trophies. It’s always a bit bittersweet to see these changes.
Also, bonus post since we aren’t likely to circle back to them for a couple of days, here are Megan and Harry at the Lion King premiere. Meghan is wearing a Jason Wu mesh panel dress, a pair of cool NIkos Koulis ‘OUI’ Diamond earrings, and snazzy Aquazarra “Potrait of a Lady” shoes. See Meghan’s Mirror for more details. Harry is, of course, wearing Harry Clothes.
