How do you feel about sleeveless coats? Cage dresses? We are going to find out!

The Spanish royals are – as always – working, the Invictus Games wrapped up, and the Japanese Crown Princely couple visited Naro and Kyoto. See it all here. Of course, the Earl and Countess of Wessex are touring the Caribbean and we have a whole post dedicated to that.
Netherlands
Koningsdag 2022 is April 27, and since the festivities should be back on after a couple of subdued years, we will have an Open Post for it. As a warm-up for the big event, take a look at WAX and MAX at the opening of the Kingsgames at School Poptahof. Remember that sleeveless coat of Mette-Marit’s we puzzled over? Well, Max wore a similar garment by Massimo Dutti (actually a waistcoat, not an actual coat) in white, with a white wool Massimo Dutti coat over it. Spoiler alert: she’s not the only royal to wear a sleeveless coat this Bit-around.
There was also a royal convergence at the closing of the Invictus Games. The King attended to lend his support to the Duke of Sussex’s grand initiative, and a good time was had by all.
Classic Princess Margriet hung out with her nephew Prince Jaime at the Princess Christina Concours. Jaime is the son of Princess Irene. I know! So many House of Orange princes to track, and they all share physical similarities. Tante Margriet, on the other hand, stands out. Doesn’t she look sharp in her grey and pink?

Denmark
I don’t know about you, but a visit from Daisy would make me feel better, particularly when she’s all fetched-up proper. The Queen also met up with a person who obviously feels the same warm vibes toward plaid as she does ; ).
Wait no longer, here’s your second sighting of a sleeveless coat. Crown Princess Mary wore a beige number by Harris Wharf London for Research Day at the Viking Ship Museum, and if there ever was an event I would like to be in on, that one is it!
Norway
Every year the Crown Princely couple takes a trip to a different region of their country to learn more about the people who live there and their lives. This year they were in Svalbard undertaking a series of engagements. Doesn’t this photo just say “Couple who have been together forever and are in tune with each other? Mette-Marit is wearing ChloΓ© Wool Blend-Tweed Tailored Trousers and a Zara coat.
The couple also visited the Svalbard Museum, and I included it since I know you all love a good bunad sighting.
Meanwhile, the arty Queen visited Venice for the Biennale of Contemporary Art. She wore her steel “pearls” and tossed a dashing Emilio Pucci Wool Buckle Cape around her shoulders for her travels about town.
Luxembourg
….and Queen Sonja was not the only royal in Venice. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie popped in for a couple of days to see a few Luxembourgian artists. Here she is in Emporio Armani, and I wish that she would reach for this designer more often.
On a cooler day, she put on her repeated Moncler coat and paired it with her Natan top to take in some art.
Sweden
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel hosted a dinner to thank the supporters of the Crown Princely Foundation. It must have been warmer in Sweden than in Venice because Victoria looks perfectly comfortable in her Dolce & Gabbana dress (and she looks good.)
With thanks to @TheRoyalsAndI TRH #CrownPrincessVictoria and Prince Daniel gave a dinner for the partners and supporters of the Crown Princess Couple foundation at Haga Palace.

Monaco
When I promised you a cage dress, you knew it had to come from Monaco, right? La BB and her husband Pierre attended the Dior x Venetian Heritage fundraising gala, and Beatrice wore this “illusion cage” from the Christian Dior Spring 2018 collection. You’re gonna love it or hate it – I cannot take my eyes off of it. In a good way.
Britain
Lest we forget.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey. The Duchess wore a repeated Alexander McQueen dress from Princess Charlotte’s christening, along with her June Taylor “Calypso” halo hat.
Oddments
Wish I had found this last week! Still fun a week late.
Can you spot the Easter Bunny hiding in the embroidery of this pair of menswear gauntlet gloves from about 1640?
